Jon and Jess; A Snowy Burlington Wedding

i’ve known jess and jon for a while working together at the hospital as nurses for years – and it’s been fun watching their relationship grow over the last few years.  i was truly honored when they asked me to photograph their intimate wedding up in burlington. When we awoke saturday morning the streets were covered in snow and it was completely picturesque (except for the 20 mph winds!!!).  luckily those winds died down, but man it was cold!  jess rocked her dress and heels out in that snow for some dancing down church street  🙂

i hadn’t been a part of a wedding like this before – and it was simply amazing.  when we left the dinner at the end of the night, josh and i felt like family… we were welcomed into their eclectic ceremony at the study hall in downtown burlington and we literally knew every person in the room by the end of the night.

this wedding made me feel at home, comfortable, and so in love with being a photographer.  from the busy-ness of getting ready, to the quiet ceremony and romantic moments on church street (frozen yes… but still romantic!!!), to a room full of so much love at dinner… this one had it all.  i couldn’t begin to explain the happiness and warmth felt on this day – regardless of those single digit temperatures outside.

i love capturing moments for people – some that may not even seem like the biggest ones… the ones with the kids watching their parents and aunt and uncle make a commitment bigger than they realize, the quiet intimate hugs between the newly married couple, the writing of a letter and trying to figure out how to explain how much you love someone.  those moments – they are what matter.  they are what create your story.  and i want to tell that story.
