Theres no hiding the fact that i love photographing newborns. i was super thankful last fall to have the pleasure of documenting many.. and especially thankful that they were younger siblings to those i had photographed in the past!!! we started with their beautifully backlit maternity session early last fall to document the last few moments as a family of three!!
these boys, and this family are even more special because i’m thankful to call them friends!! i have worked with Allie for basically my whole nursing career – and now we are in the same office together. Between conversations about the hospital, friends, babies, photography, lack of sleep and most importantly our obsession with sour patch kids we have gotten to know each other pretty well over the years.
i photographed these boys on a day where we were getting awicked snowstorm… i remember it well because i drove up with some flurries falling and walked out to actual snow on the ground… and they were pretty darn good for their session so it wasn’t even a super long one 😉
I feel honored to be invited into family’s homes for portraits – newborn or family… it’s such a fleeting time, its such an emotion-filled time… and i love documenting it all. with this family – we had double the fun with the boys and their older sister Casey kept me entertained with puzzles and laughter throughout the entire session.
these boys will protected by their big sister, and definitely entertained because she is quite the funny girl!
moments of laughter and love and craziness are the best part of in home newborn sessions.
i am thrilled to be able to present these moments to families… this time that goes by so fast… because these boys are already almost SIX MONTHS old!!!! Documenting moments and creating beautiful family heirlooms to be enjoyed day after day and year after year is what makes me feel, its what keeps me going, and makes me want to keep creating year after year.
