A glimpse of our life….

When it comes to photography I’m always looking to learn something, to read about and put into practice anything I’ve read.  I have so many goals for this year, one of them being to stay in touch with social media more (isn’t this almost every creatives goal for the new year?!?!?)!!  In an effort to start the year off with a bang I wanted to capture a day in our life!  It may not be perfect, there may not be beautiful light all the time, but I love freezing moments to look back on forever and ever… and with that being said, I REALLY ought to start working on my yearly photo album… hopefully this year I’ll be done before October!  I have so many fun new things planned for LKP for this year, and so many fun adventures to be had with my littles and husband!  i’m thankful for every day, and thankful for the ability to capture it with my camera. I’m also super thankful to spend my life with these kiddos especially while they are still my little snugglers.  i hope you enjoy!

our morning snugs on the couch might be my all time favorite time of day.

our morning snugs on the couch just might be my favorite time of day.  i love how kids wake up with a completely fresh slate in the morning.  they have completely forgotten about anything that happened the day before, and its a new day.  sometimes i need to prescribe to that philosophy and they often remind me that i should!!

this girly and her dollies… i’m sure learned from her cousin.. she gives them binkies and covers them with blankies… and usually stuffs them head first into her bags! hah!

breakfast time!

i got this trifold board for a photo shoot a while back, the kids found it one day and decided it would become their new coloring board.  it provides SO much entertainment for these two.  in the end we have uncapped markers and crayon shavings all over the floor because the coloring utensils have all been dumped about – but i don’t even mind, because i completely love watching them play so nicely together.

we love the grocery store!!! (side note: my camera had a DRAMATIC fall moments before this photo was taken… thank goodness it landed on the battery pack and just the battery popped out… i may have been shaking a little bit still when taking this image though!!)

chili for dinner tonight!

during bunny’s naptime, he plays quietly.. sometimes in his room, sometimes in the living room, but he is usually so good about finding something and entertaining himself for a little bit… its a much needed break for everyone in the fam.

and then when he gets bored of ‘quiet time’ he wrecks havoc in the living room by building forts and flipping cushions!

good morning bunny, how was your nap?!

it’s pretty much constantly laundry day at our house… on any given day that me or my husband is home we probably do at least 2 loads… if not more! today was especially productive because laundry was washed AND folded… in the SAME day!

peek-a-boo pebbles!!!

tubby time!!

making our FIRST loaf of bread in the new breadmaker!! cinnamon raisin…… yum!

naked baby alert!!

he fell asleep before the bread was finished…. i think iwant to make bread in my house every day just because it literally smells. like. heaven.  and let me tell you, warm bread with a little bit of butter.. DELICIOUS.  it was the perfect late night treat 🙂

and then its off to bed for the parents!! i hope you enjoyed hearing a little bit about our normal day – it’s nothing amazingly exciting, its just our life… and i think its pretty wonderful.  i recognize that the lighting isn’t great, and my house is cluttered, but i have these memories that i’ll never forget.  i encourage you to snap a photo of your life, your family – take one every day if you’re up for the challenge!  it doesn’t matter if things aren’t perfect – every time you pick up your camera you’ll notice some technique, or some way light is casting a shadow – you’ll learn how to be a better photographer by using your camera.  its really an amazing thing to see that growth – and you have these awesome pictures of yourself, your life and your kids… that you can cherish and create artwork with so that can have them.. forever <3
