on one of the most perfectly beautiful nights (in a very WET spring) i took this gorgeous family out to my favorite spot – an LKP exclusive location – Wildhaven Farm.  The tall grass in the front field still lingering allowed for backlit, sun-filled backgrounds.  these two kids were a dream to work with – and the love between these four is so apparent.  there was always some snuggling or kissing going on and lots of laughter – my favorite type of session :).  the kiddos let their true personalities shine through with some twirling and goofy grins on the pathway while their parents watched over them with adoration.  these two are just about the same ages as my two kiddos – and i actually went to high school with this mama though we didn’t even realize it until a phone conversation after a few emails back and forth!  i completely recognize the craziness of every day life with toddlers and love the ability to slow down and savor the moment every once in a while in some pretty sunlight relaxing on a blanket in a field.  i couldn’t ask for a more perfect evening at the farm, and a family sharing some snuggles just made my evening that much better! enjoy some highlights from their session <3

this right here is why i became a photographer.  to capture this seemingly insignificant moment that is – in reality – SO significant.  a dreamy image of a little girl picking flowers – her innocence shines through and its an image her parents will never forget – especially when its framed on their wall 😉

i have recently loved photographing little girls hair – there is something about the wispy-ness, the fresh curls… as moms we know it wont last forever, and with this image i can almost feel her hair twirling in my fingers.

lately i’ve been making sure to grab a couple shots of just parents.. i think its important that we acknowledge the start of it all.. the beginning of the family… and face it parents – your kids want to see your photos when we’re all old!
